The environment of Untitled #98 invites viewers to become a part of a dreamy fantasy and lose themselves in the lights, camera and no action.
BEHIND THE SCENES
Untitled #98 is inspired by the idea of creating a comfortable nook where viewers can be reflected in the space around them. Using a small corner or enclosed area, we want to create an intimate space where viewers can hide away and immerse themselves into the installation.
Untitled #98 uses reflective mylar-covered objects, mirrors and white sheets as materials to project off of, creating an abstract and distorted projection. The projection is of a live camera shooting viewers, done by connecting a laptop webcam to the projectors.
The viewers can lay down on the beanbag chairs, look up and around and interact with the mylar mobile to alter the projections. The goal is to emphasize the idea that the viewers are a part of our piece.
